Received my copy of “the Rover-Lander” today. It is the magazine from the Rover Landers club of British Columbia, Canada. I have only thumbed through this copy. It does have a great cover shot of a Series Dormobile .
Great bunch of folks. I first met them at a Rover Event in Moab Utah (might have been Colorado, who knows) several years ago. And… now it is time to get ready for another Moab trip.

30mpg Land Rover coming…. Not

It is easy to feel betrayed by our EPA standards. Not that Europe is better or worse, They get the Thirty mile per gallon (over all milage) diesel Land Rover. While I struggle with 11.35 mpg since new Disco, and my wife’s 2000 Disco is running at 12.83 over all since we began tracking the milage.
In general Americans think of diesels as noisy , smokey and something for big rigs. While many VW and Mercedes diesels roam amongst us with out us noticing. Well, may be in 2012 …….

Then I read this article….Victoria Beckham is going to be Creative Design Executive for Land Rover !
Land Rover Owner International (LRO) is posting that the former Spice Girl and wife to soccer star David Beckham, has been appointed the title of “Creative Design Executive” for Land Rover’s Range Rover lineup.
“Victoria Beckham is a talented British fashion designer and is extremely knowledgeable about great design and trends.” Says Gerry McGovern, Land Rover and Range Rover Design Director.(read the rest here…)
